I loved every minute of working with Dana on my scene creations which she wrote, directed, and edited. From the first interaction there was a feeling of trust and respect. As a director she is ten steps ahead but perfectly in the moment. She is intelligent and precise in her direction and she really knows how to talk to actors, being an incredible actor herself. She knows what a scene needs and how to shape it, is keenly aware of your instincts, and uses them to help you deliver a very detailed performance. She is generous, funny, fiercely focused, patient and a great collaborator. I would work with her again in a heartbeat. - Marlene Wallace
Dana is wonderful to work with - read any of her testimonials, and all of them say that.
What those words don't convey is what it means to be on set with her:
a master collaborator, a sure artistic eye, a reassuring influence, jumping in on a shoot day for a costar who came down with Covid, meticulous attention to the script, fantastic turnarounds,a great listener - she does it all with grace and kindness. I walked away from the shoot feeling like I had a new friend in my corner. Her services are eminently worth it. Mary Niederkorn
"Dana is an incredible writer, director, producer and editor. Working with her on EAST was a top-notch experience from start to finish. Dana is professional beyond words and runs a production like a pro. I would work with her again and again. – Jen Rudolph
'Highly skilled, dedicated, good humored, and a master multi-tasker' – Kaye Tuckerman
Dana taught me a great lesson during our work on my scenes; one that will benefit my future work and overall health: basically: don’t be so hard on myself! It was a brief moment but also a breath of fresh air! I had not been in front of the camera in over seven years, and I was very uptight and nervous. I could not be happier with the work she directed: I have received nothing but positive feedback on the three scenes she shot. And meeting with and talking with her Mom and Dad was so much fun. Thank you, Dana!! - Mark Fairchild
I first saw some of Dana‘s work at several screenings and film festivals and I was so thoroughly impressed that I reached out to her to have her collaborate with me and both direct and produce a short film I had been working on for several years. The process of working with Dana on this film was not only incredibly enjoyable, but her professionalism organization and very thoughtful directing truly made the project exceptional and our experience on set working with her was incredibly powerful. Later Dana and I continued to work together on several other projects, and I have to say that each and every experience was incredibly inspiring, creative and handled with true care and professionalism. I truly felt she was able to draw things from my performance as an actor that brought my performances to another level. I always felt in completely safe hands under Dana‘s talented eye. – Natalie Roy
“Dana is an authentic multi-hyphenate who has mastered the art of making it look easy. As an actor, she is electric onscreen — you can’t take your eyes off her. And she is a generous scene partner, compelling and collaborative. Her screenplays crack with lightening wit and grounded characters, so easy to sink into as an actor and so fun to watch unfold onscreen. Her sophisticated humor and love of human vulnerabilities leap off the page and onto the set. And finally, Dana’s compassion and clarity as a Director make you say yes to anything she’s building. Her sets are team oriented and story-focused. I’d leap at the chance to work with Dana again in any or all of these categories in which she excels. Dana is a gift to any set and any story she tells will delight.” – Ramona Floyd
Dana Schoenfeld is a true actor’s director. She is patient, thoughtful and is able to create a safe, creative, productive space for her cast and crew. She is open minded and a true collaborator. – Sally Brooke
WOW. Just. Do. It.
Main Sequence lives up to its stellar reputation and then some. The final product looks studio-perfect: the footage DOES NOT look like you went to a scene concept company, it looks and vibes like footage from a gig. Dana’s writing skills are second to none, so you’re already off to a strong start, way before shoot day.
Shoot day - everything is punctual, ready, smooth, easeful. No scrambling. Dana has a pro team and they know exactly what they’re doing, and they’re so used to working together that it runs like a well-oiled machine. No nonsense.
Dana is a director herself, so she actually directs the takes, plays with takes, laughs, encourages, there’s spontaneous improv…it’s great. She goes above and beyond to make sure you get what you’re there to get. She puts you at ease so you can drop into your craft and just play. I’ve had other experiences with scene concept companies where this isn’t the case and it’s awful, not to mention the final footage just doesn’t hold a candle to what you get with Main Sequence.
It’s worth it. Every. Penny. Dana is a breeze to work with and the vibe is calm, creative, fun, and everything is totally upleveled. Do it!! - Leigh Ann West
Dana listens to her actors and gets inspired. She is meticulous with every move and decision as a director. Her attention to detail is unparalleled.
Her understanding as editor and writer make her one of the best directors I’ve had the pleasure to work with. She’s open and she also loves to improv on a scene with actors. I can not wait to work with her again. – Anthony Robert Grasso
I was referred to Dana and Main Sequence when I was looking for one more scene to put on my reel. I had taken a 10 year break from the acting biz so I could focus on raising my daughter. It was imperative that I had specific marketing and media when I decided to get back in. Dana enthusiastically helped me create that final character who opens and closes my new and much improved reel.
From the first Zoom call to the final Director's Cut, Dana was kind, attentive, decisive and encouraging. The script she wrote was beyond what I could have imagined, and I felt so safe and supported during our shoot. She created an environment with specific details to our scene and gave us the freedom and time to explore our character's choices. I really trusted her, and that element is so important during this process.
Dana quickly and beautifully edited the final Director's Cut, and thoroughly communicated each step of the way. And I have to thank her for this wonderful experience she helped me create, because it 100% contributed to helping me acquire my first Manager! I am so grateful that it was such a good experience, and I can't recommend Dana and Main Sequence enough!

I LOVE working with Dana and would work with her literally anytime, anywhere. As a director, she has a way of bringing out the best in her actors. She loves to see where your creative imagination wants to take you and helps you get in touch with it like no one I’ve ever seen. Yes, Dana gives you the freedom to try different things, but it’s beyond that. It's like she senses what will work for you and then gives you specific direction to help unleash it. She sees your potential, your instincts, your impulses, almost before you do. She sees the spark as well as the flame that they can become, and she helps you ignite the flame. It’s fantastic. Magic. Dana is the consummate actor’s director, and that’s a fact. – Stephanie Weppler
I had the pleasure of working alongside Dana from pre-production through post production of an entire season of a television series. She is a visionary storyteller, from the page as a writer to her limitless talent as a director and her beautiful performance in front of the camera. It was an honor to produce with her and also serve as a performer while she directed. She works tirelessly and her aim for perfection is an asset to everyone who works on her projects. She works harder than anyone and does it with grace and joy. There’s nothing she can’t do but most impressively she does it all with a keen eye, an open mind, and a passion for her many crafts. I would jump on any chance to work with her again and again. – Jolie Curtsinger Schwartz
Working with Dana on my latest project has been nothing short of amazing. From the moment I shared my scene concepts with her, it was clear that I had found a true professional who not only understood my vision but also had the expertise to bring it to life.

Dana Marisa Schoenfeld is a collaborative partner from start to finish. Dana got to know me and my goals for scene creations before even putting pen to paper. She turned out great scripts that we tweaked until they were just right for me. As a filmmaker, her sets are carefully curated down to the last detail, and she ran with my suggestions as well. Dana gathers total pros to the set and executes shoots with *your goals in mind, staying on schedule while still making room to play. I trusted her eyes, ears, and sensibilities and just relaxed and let fly. Her keen edit skills delivered the best of the bunch for engaging, sharp, scenes. That's a wrap! - Kathleen Clancy
Best way I can describe Dana is she is like a multi-talented painter that can literally take a blank canvas and slowly add color, texture, feeling, she adds life to a blank canvas. I feel this is how she operates within her film productions.
Dana sees things that you may not. She has a keen eye. You want that in a Director but she is clearly more than a Director. From writing scenes, to location, props, scene prep, scoring, preproduction, postproduction..ya shes does it all. Anything you need related to having your production completed she has, knows or has access to. If you are shooting scenes Toru her quiet cameraman most likely will be there capturing every nuance to each scene. He checks in with you just to be sure all is ok. Gotta love him.
I now realize how much goes into the editing process. It’s a very detailed layered process. Dana not only has the patience to dissect these layers,
but she weaves them together leaving you with options.
Whether you are a novice or pro, thinking about a project, are unsure about what to, where to begin, needs a pair of keen eyes to see what you may be missing I would honestly say .. Dana’s got you. Seriously. She can help you paint your canvas. - Mitch Roberson
As a producer Dana has the rare ability to seamlessly find solutions for every challenge that inevitably comes up. Her positive, collaborative attitude creates an environment in which actors and crew members thrive. As a director Dana has the ability to both give direction and offer freedom, allowing each actor's unique qualities and talent to emerge. As an actor she is the same -- generous with her co-stars, allowing them to shine as much as she does. Dana's knowledge, talent and genuine giving spirit are evident on every project in which she is involved. I consider her a mentor, an inspiration and a multi-faceted creative genius and I look forward to working with her on more projects in the future.
