As a director she is ten steps ahead but perfectly in the moment. She is intelligent and precise in her direction and she really knows how to talk to actors, being an incredible actor herself. Main Sequence lives up to its stellar reputation and then some.  The final product looks studio-perfect: the footage DOES NOT look like you went to a scene concept company, it looks and vibes like footage from a gig.  Dana’s writing skills are second to none, so you’re already off to a strong start, way before shoot day. 

Shoot day - everything is punctual, ready, smooth, easeful.  No scrambling. Dana has a pro team and they know exactly what they’re doing, and they’re so used to working together that it runs like a well-oiled machine.  No nonsense. 

Dana is a director herself, so she actually directs the takes, plays with takes, laughs, encourages, there’s spontaneous improv…it’s great.  She goes above and beyond to make sure you get what you’re there to get.  She puts you at ease so you can drop into your craft and just play.  I’ve had other experiences with scene concept companies where this isn’t the case and it’s awful, not to mention the final footage just doesn’t hold a candle to what you get with Main Sequence.

I was referred to Dana and Main Sequence when I was looking for one more scene to put on my reel.  I had taken a 10 year break from the acting biz so I could focus on raising my daughter.  It was imperative that I had specific marketing and media when I decided to get back in.  Dana enthusiastically helped me create that final character who opens and closes my new and much improved reel.

Best way I can describe Dana is she is like a multi-talented painter that can literally take a blank canvas and slowly add color, texture, feeling, she adds life to a blank canvas. I feel this is how she operates within her film productions.

Dana sees things that you may not. She has a keen eye. You want that in a Director but she is clearly more than a Director. From writing scenes, to location, props, scene prep, scoring, preproduction, postproduction..ya shes does it all.  Anything you need related to having your production completed she has, knows or has access to.  If you are shooting scenes Toru her quiet cameraman most likely will be there capturing every nuance to each scene. He checks in with you just to be sure all is ok. Gotta love him. 

I now realize how much goes into the editing process. It’s a very detailed layered process. Dana not only has the patience to dissect these layers,

but she weaves them together leaving you with options.
