Dana Marisa Schoenfeld is an award-winning writer/director/producer and actor. Born and raised in New York City, Dana began her career at the prestigious NBC Page program and spent years in production working on hit television shows in New York City before she was awarded a two-year scholarship through the Screenwriting Expo to study screenwriting in Los Angeles.
After spending a few years in Los Angeles, Dana returned to New York City and founded her production company, Main Sequence Studios. Since the launch of Main Sequence, Dana has
written, produced, directed, and starred in award-winning short films, web series, feature films, and independent TV Pilots.
Dana’s work has been the official selection of film festivals around the world including The Cannes Short Film Corner, The London International Filmmakers Festival, The Austrian Independent Film Festival, The Nice International Film Festival, The Big Apple Film Festival, The New York Shorts International Film Festival, The Las Vegas Action on Film Festival, The Los Angeles Independent Film Awards, The Hollywood Comedy Shorts Festival, The Hoboken International Film Festival, The Buffalo-Niagara Film Festival, The Williamsburg Independent Film Festival, The Madrid International Filmmakers Festival, The Independent Television Festival, The Garden State Film Festival, The Montclair Film Festival, The Long Island International Film Festival, Hang on to Your Shorts Festival, The New Jersey Film Festival, The Chain Film Festival, The Long Beach International Film Festival, The Chelsea Film Festival and The American Movie Awards.
Dana’s television pilot, EAST, won Best TV Pilot at the Big Apple Film Festival, the Hoboken Film Festival, The Las Vegas Action on Film Festival, and the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival. Dana was honored with two Best Director Awards for her short film SASHA as well as a Best Producer Award for the same short. SASHA also received an award for Best Cinematography at the London International Filmmakers Festival and was nominated for Best Original Screenplay, Best Actress, Best Editing, Best Supporting Actress, and a myriad of other nominations. SASHA was recognized with an Award of Distinction at the Canada Shorts Film Festival. Dana won the Best Actress Award at the Las Vegas Action on Film Festival for her performance in EAST, and a Best Editing Award for her film Editing work on Swiped Right. Dana was honored with a Best Female Director Award in Las Vegas for Swiped Right, the Audience Choice Award in Brooklyn, as well as multiple cast wins (best actress, best supporting actress) for their work in the short comedy which she wrote directed, produced, edited, and co-starred in (based on an idea by Lydia Fiore). Dana's most recent TV Pilot, "Divorce School"created with Julie Zelman won Best TV Pilot at The Garden State Film Festival, Best Web Series at Top Shorts Film Festival, Best Web Series at the New York Film Awards, Best Director at the Los Angeles Film Awards, Best TV Series at the Los Angeles Film Awards, and Runner-up for Best Pilot at the Williamsburg International Film and Music Festival.
Dana grew up in New York City, went to the Ethical Culture Fieldston School, and graduated from The University of Michigan. She currently lives in New York City.
